Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of characters, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, demons, and dark forces growing in power within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of characters who will branch out from the main group to begin their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might seem out of place, but the events of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
First, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his obligations and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, above the city, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each character has a individual motive to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer knows the region and cautions that it is a hostile place.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could help the party reach locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that control the city for a range of causes, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to journey toward Timmony in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
Based on the latest episode’s post-show segment, we discover that the combat party won’t be around next week, leaving the remaining eight cast members to form the Explorers and Schemers tables.
Viewers can anticipate discovering which adventurers will be where in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on October 24.
