19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden title for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a difficult season, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in especial - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Now training with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents the player's initial championship since the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt since that period of that year.
The win also signifies he has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one various events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my children together, so to win a title is really nice," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my child her name, because the first title I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, featuring in that event earlier this year.
The player's defensive approach and regular outbursts on the tennis court had led some to wonder if his ability to perform at the top level was over.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an better service.
He fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the last five games to go ahead.
The pair swapped service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first tour victory, took control to force a third set.
The opponent defended 4 early-game break points in a tight third set before the champion won the break to that score to serve for the match.
Appropriately, the winner clinched the title with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman unable to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
